The final quest, the last chapter before the sun rises on Pirate Fest 2019 and the dawn of a new wave of rock n’ roll experiences that The Kraken is Alive intends to unleash in 2019 and beyond.

Cape Town called and Captain Renegade has answered! Gathering the Krew of the Kraken Hunter for one more night of rum and rock n’ roll, he’ll be arriving in the Mother City on the 5th of September at the head of a mighty armada led by American metalcore legends, Atreyu!

Nick is at the top of his game, touring the world with his arch companion Hernan Cattaneo and delivering to massive dance floors, this intimate limited numbers party is a rare occasion for a DJ of his status.

They have also, very carefully, selected 2 pioneers of the Cape Town electronic music scene to build the perfect lineup to support Nick and deliver a journey of music for this special party.

Sanlam Cape Town Marathon 42.2km 2019

The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon (42.2km) is a prestigious global city race open to a range of running enthusiasts from elite athletes to social runners. Along the spectacular route, you will take in the famous natural beauty of Cape Town’s mountains and seas, as well as many of the city’s great attractions. The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon is home to ASA Marathon Championships.

Running the marathon is unique way to experience the gorgeous highlights and the vibrant spirit of one of Africa’s most visited and most celebrated city. It is an ideal race both for athletes who aim to achieve fast times, and for first-timers who want to finish their inaugural marathon.

National Braai Day Street2Strip

Street2Strip is back! Join Killarney Raceway for the National Braai Day Street2Strip event on Heritage Day, Tuesday 24 September.

Gates open at 7:30am and racing starts at 10:00am. Pay at the gate: Entry is R80 per person - free if you're a Western Province Motor Club member, or if you are under 12 years old.

Open to street-legal cars and with the full timing system in use on the day, bragging rights are up for grabs for the fastest reaction time and actual race times. Hear the roar of the crowd as your times are announced by the commentators.

The event is also open, as a test session, to professional-level drag racers; Street2Strip and Drag testing entries at Gate No.1 from 9:00am to 12:00pm at R100 for non-members and R80 for club members.

If you are not competing, come and braai at the many braai spots along the drag strip or grab a takeaway and liquid refreshments from the New Pits Lounge or one of the food stalls, as we celebrate our petrolhead heritage with a day of family fun, including stalls, music, and a children's play area.

The Sandy Land Getaway 2

Last year the first Sandy Land getaway was a success and was a sold out event.

This year again they are back at it. Sandy Land getaway is a full day trip to Sun City, one of the most instagrammable and most visited place in South Africa.

The road trip usually start early 7h00 sharp leaving park station in Joburg and a stop to the coolest craft village Cameleon village where you find all sort of African hand made products.

The Grand White Spring Picnic Soweto 2019

The Grand White Dinner celebrates its first Spring Picnic in 2019 - with an impressive entertainment program - there are plenty of surprises in store for you!

Spend an extraordinary afternoon and evening together with friends and family. The Grand White will without a doubt, once again be known as one of the most prestigious events in South Africa, come 2019!

Lentedag is going cashless this year! Each festival goer will receive a cashless wristband, you can top op online to skip any queues and can sign up for automatic cash-out after the event. The value of each cashless wristband is R10 and is included in your ticket price.

They have 16 x 70 seater buses running on the day from Aandklas Hatfield (cnr of Prospect & Hilda str) to the Pretoria National Botanical Garden & back every 10 minutes. It's absolutely FREE of charge.

The Original Oktoberfest in Pretoria 2019

The Oktoberfest at the Deutsche Internationale Schule Pretoria is South Africa's original Oktoberfest and a fundraiser for the school. Over 10 000 people celebrate in true German tradition under African skies. This year from 12-14 September 2019!

Die Ottertaler Oompah band from Germany in the main tent and live music in the Biergarten. German and local draught and craft beer. Authentic German fare from Eisbein and Bratwurst to Schnitzel and traditional treats like Brezel and Lebkuchen. R130 000 in raffle prizes to be won including two Lufthansa German Airlines tickets.

Discovery Jacaranda FM Spring Walk 2019

Leave your winter ways and spring back to life with the Discovery Jacaranda FM Spring Walk!

All the routes explore the lush Jacaranda City and provide for all fitness levels including those who want to walk or run 5kms, 10kms and 15 km. The entry fee is R160, with under 16's and over 60's paying an entry fee of only R110. Babies and toddlers under 2 years can enter for free.

Midstream SpringFest

Join Moidstream Sprinfest for their 4th Springfest - a community family-friendly fun day featuring a star-studded entertainment line up that includes Die Heuwels Fantasties, Snotkop, Majozi, Ivan Roux and Renaldo.

Children under 13 will be spoiled with thrilling outdoor games and activities. This year ‘Buster die Brak en Bella die Marmot’ promises to be heaps of fun while the ‘Nutty Scientist’ will also keep the kiddies entertained with a mind-blowing show.

The Sun Arena at Time Square in Pretoria will be hosting 012 vs 031 (Gqom vs Amapiano) All Stars Concert. Gqom is a genre of electronic dance music that emerged in the early 2010 from Durban. Amapiano is a new sound, which has originated in Pretoria and is taking over the airwaves.

The battle between genres will feature DJ Tira, Naak Musiq, DJ Sumbody, Destruction Boyz, DJ Maphorisa and many more. With Zodwa wa Bantu and Liquid Metsi as your hosts.
