Staying In Ideas This Easter Weekend

Easter is a time to be with your family and loved ones. South Africans love entertaining their favourites at home. Here are some ideas for spending the long weekend at home.

For The Kids This Easter

A traditional favourite is the classic Easter Egg Hunt. Hide some yummy treats in the garden or around the house and let your little bunny hop around collecting them. Alternatively, you could hide healthy treats and snacks if you want to avoid all the sugar this day brings.

Painting and decorating eggs is a favourite activity among the kids. A good idea would be to empty the eggs a few days before Easter, so they dry properly making painting them a little less messy.

  • How To Empty An Egg - Use a pin and poke two tiny holes into the egg shell, One at the top and one at the bottom… Then blow into the egg through the bottom hole and the insides will come out of the top hole.

Simple white paper plates make great rabbit masks for those little ones who like themed play time. The kids love Easter and they love the candy that goes hand in hand with this festive holiday, before attending any Easter Egg Hunts, put a healthy snack in their bellies to absorb all the sugar they’re about to consume.

For The Couples This Easter

Whether you’re spending Easter Friday with your significant other or entertaining friends and family, we have put together some fun creative ideas to make your get together the most memorable one to come.

Just because you’re an adult doesn’t mean you can’t decorate some eggs in an elegant fashion.

Gold or silver spray paint makes for a flawless finish on any egg and what’s even handier is they can be used as Christmas tree ornaments later down the line.

Another great idea for decorated eggs are table places with guests names carefully written on a custom egg made just for them. A tiny keepsake they can treasure forever.

Instead of hunting for eggs in the garden why not fill tiny takeaway sauce pots with an alcoholic beverage of your choice. Sweet shooters are a good idea as they appeal to all tastes; hide them around the garden and have your guest hunt for easter shooters.

Just you and your loved one this Easter? Why not do some easter cooking and baking. In South Africa, pickled fish and hot cross buns are synonymous with this holiday.
