XPerience (XAFI) – 10th April
XPerience AFI, was launched in 2017 and is a premium creative hub for millennials to interact and engage around fashion and the brands they are passionate about.
It promotes a sense of entrepreneurism amongst the youth in the creative industry, by giving them a stage to promote their brand, thereby ushering in the next generation of designers, artists and musicians.

Maxhosa by Laduma
MAXHOSA BY LADUMA is a South African knitwear brand founded in 2012 by Laduma Ngxokolo. This was with desire to explore knitwear design solutions that would be suitable for amakrwala (Xhosa initiates). His initial vision was to create a modern Xhosa-inspired knitwear collection that would be suitable for this market.

Neville Masondo
La Art Neviole Emporium is the brainchild of Neville Masondo, who studied Fashion Design and Technology at the Tshwane University of Technology. He then opened his Couture boutique where he has dressed celebrities such as Bonang and Nigeria’s Toke Makinwa. Neville describes his designs as couture with a touch of avant-garde, his designs have a historical or vintage element – but with a modern twist.

Fastrack
A part of our development strategy, AFI’s Fastrack™ was established as an initiative that identifies and invests in the best of the continent’s young designers, by providing them with direct access to: mentorships, media exposure and business acumen, through yearlong programmes that prepare them to navigate the fashion landscape.
In addition to this development platform, AFI’s Young Designer of the Year competition annually rewards outstanding new talent, with the annual winners and runners-up going on to run their own fashion businesses. Over the past six years, AFI’s Fastrack™ incubator programme has so far assisted in developing the careers of 75 new talent

Marianne Fassler has spent over three decades in the fashion business. She operates from Leopard Frock, her creative workshop in Saxonwold, Johannesburg. She sells garments and separates off the peg and also consults with individual clients by appointment.
Her work is always superbly crafted, interesting and comfortable. She appeals to a wide spectrum of women who love individuality, identity, craftsmanship and diversity in their wardrobe.
