The Anglo Boer War Museum commemorates the Anglo Boer War that was fought between the British and the Boer Republic from 1899 to 1902.

Oliewenhuis Art Museum
Oliewenshuis Art Museum strives to preserve and exhibit the artwork that has become such an intricate part of South African history.
Everything about this museum has been preserved from the past, from the Dutch-style building it is housed in that exhibits the original architecture, designed by William Mollison in 1941. Rated 4.5 stars on Tripadvisor it is well worth the visit.
The small cafe on the premises serves up hot tea and coffee to keep you lubricated while you peruse the grounds and enjoy the art installations that reflect on our heritage.
If you are a lover of the arts the Oliewenhuis is a stop you have to make.

Free State National Botanical Gardens
These pristine Gardens invite visitors to take in the flora and fauna Bloemfontein is known for. The Gardens themselves are a little difficult to find according to reviews on Tripadvisor, but that hasn’t hindered its 4.5 star rating.
Pack some snacks and refreshments and visit the British Dam, that was formerly used for the watering of horses, now has become a natural watering hole for the local wildlife.
There are multiple paths that meander through the Gardens taking you off into quiet little nooks of greenery.
With over 400 species of plant life and an abundance of natural wildlife including 144 bird species, 54 reptile species and about 32 mammal species, the Botanical Gardens are a must visit when in the Free State.
